Aquila is a super likeable and rideable horse. He is trainable, talented and safe. His amazing temperament has allowed him to progress from winning his first preparatory test on 90% to winning his first elementary start on 67% within just 5 months of solid dressage schooling!

Aquila is easy to handle, clip, shoe, float, etc. At competitions Aquila is very relaxed and completely unfazed. Aquila will be the perfect partner for any serious junior or senior rider looking for a very impressive, reliable, sound, competitive, classy horse without any stress!

Aquila is confidently schooling shoulder-in, travers, renvers, walk pirouettes, half-pass in trot and canter, and has just started schooling canter pirouettes. Aquila is very supple and displays great rhythm. He has a natural talent for lateral work and extensions. Aquila did have some jumping training early in his career, where he displayed a bold, careful and athletic jump but more recently he has been focused on a serious dressage career.

Aquila’s talent is not surprising when you view his pedigree. Aquila is by the imported German stallion Grandkavalier. Grandkavalier has many successful progeny competing across the disciplines including his son Grand Joca who competed in Europe under Andrew Hoy. Grandkavalier’s dam Resista is a full sister to Rubinstein who of course is the sire of Australia’s own Grand Prix legend, Regardez Moi. Aquila’s dam is by the imported Dutch stallion Salute. Salute is recognised today as being one of Australia’s most influential performance horse sires ever. Salute is the sire of Australia’s most successful dressage horse Victory Salute who came 9th in the world at the 2010 WEG.
